Pete Ludé is prominent engineering leader in advanced imaging and sound.  He currently serves at CTO of Mission Rock Digital, a San Francisco-based engineering firm specializing in next-generation media.  Current work includes display technology for next-generation cinema, immersive sound, and interchange pipelines for VR, AR and plenoptic (light field) imaging systems.

Our Charter

The Promotions Working Group shall be responsible for oversight of IDEA’s public outreach, promotion and messaging, including (but not limited to) web site content, press releases and member recruiting presentations, as directed by the Board. The Working Group may also be assigned specific projects by the Board, such as oversight of IDEA public technology demonstrations.

As Senior Director in the Emerging Technologies team, DJ Lal leads the Immersive Media Practice at Charter Communications. In this role, he provides strategic leadership and direction on service delivery innovation over the network for Gaming, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.

Principal Engineer, Cox Communications
Dr. Keith Rothschild is the Principal Engineer for Cox Communication’s Technology Solutions Engineering organization. His work focuses on solving problems related to complex adaptive systems of systems, including autonomous/machine learning, late-binding/dynamic resource-“cost” optimization, diverse design as a real-time service robustness strategy, and polymorphic policy adaptation. Keith has over two dozen patents in diverse areas including data storage, Hybrid-Fiber-Coax (HFC) architectures, digital rights management, network-DVR, cloud computing, and content-aware networks. He has a BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, an MBA from DeSales University, and his Ph.D. from Northcentral University.

Our Charter

The Network Architecture Working Group shall draft specification documents, reports and other deliverables related to the transmission and distribution of immersive image and sound, as defined in IDEA Project Proposals. A Project Proposal shall be approved by the Board for each deliverable assigned to the Working Group.

A pioneer in computer graphics, streaming and 3D rendering with over 25 years of industry experience, his life’s work has been to revolutionize 3D content capture, creation and delivery.

Kristina is the Project Manager for OctaneRender™ at OTOY where she oversees development of the Octane roadmap, interfacing with the technical team, support team, and industry partners. Kristina also manages the company’s presence at major industry events. Outside of OTOY, she is an organizer for the LayerOne security conference.

Our Charter

The Media Format Working Group shall draft specification documents, reports and other deliverables related to the representation, business requirements, workflow and use-cases for the capture, production, post-production or archiving of immersive images and sound, as defined in IDEA Project Proposals. A Project Proposal shall be approved by the Board for each deliverable assigned to the Working Group.

Live Action Work Group

Our Charter

The Live Action Working Group shall draft a report and provide documentation and other deliverables related to the state of the industry for all elements of live action capture of light field. Our work will include technical recommendations for the capture, compression, representation, distribution, streaming and displaying of light field as media, plus examine other methodologies relating to other non-synthetic or computer generated media and how these approaches map to a scene graph and the node-based approach within the current ITMF specification. A Project Proposal shall be approved by the Board for each deliverable assigned to the Working Group.
